Jenny Holzer Living: More than once I’ve wakened with tears…1980-82
I love Jenny Holzer. when I was in Venice (Italy, not the beach) I went to the Peggy Guggenheim museum. I remember seeing a long bench, I believe it was marble and there was a poem engraved on it, verse by verse all the way down. the first part I read was somewhere near the center. I started to cry. I went to the beginning and I read it through. I’m pretty emotional to begin with I guess, but every now and then something gets to me, and it was this poem did. I don’t even like poems. I eventually looked it up when I got back to the US cause I had no computer with me in Europe, and I didn’t care to waste time online. I had taken pictures of each verse and I think I types the words into Google trying to find out who and what it was. I believe it was a poem from Henri Cole’s Middle Earth. but I could be wrong.
looks like I’ll just be obsessively searching old hard drives to find them.
